Watching sports with people

Novacane for the pain

I get a bit too in to watching sports sometimes. If my team loses a really important game then it'll effect my mood for the rest of the day. So consequently I'm one of those crazy people who get kind of animated when watching. But all my friends are generally like that so it's okay :p

Even sports that I don't follow as passionately I can get glued to the screen. I remember staying up ridiculously late watching one of the Wimbledon finals once because it was so intense. Can't remember if it was that Nadal vs Federer one or one of the later ones, all I know is I didn't even notice the time until a few hours had passed....

Oh man. When I'm by myself and watching the Spurs. I go freaking nuts when something bad or good happens. I don't get as crazy when others are around but I still get into it.

The only time I've ever gotten really crazy around other people is last year when I went to the Ohio State vs. Purdue football game. Braxton Miller got hurt and the Buckeyes were down 8 with like 47 seconds to go. The backup quarterback Kenny Guiton lead them down the field and scored with 3 seconds left. He completed the 2 point conversion as well and won the game in overtime. You have no idea how loud that stadium was when he completed that 2 point conversion.

Haha yeah thats the game. I just got chills watching through that again.

It doesn't even compare with actually being there though.

Their are very few games where my eyes are glued to the screen. The ones that do usually involved the playoffs, my team, or just a really really good game. But if I'm just watching cause it's on, I check my phone for my fantasy football updates.
I understand that, but its people who are watching their FAVORITE team. Also they are reading twitter about whats going on in the game. That I don't understand. I also check fantasy even watching my Giants, but just every 10 or 15 minutes for a minute.

Also, does anyone actually watch games live? My Dad and I never do that. We watch games 2 hours when they already started and DVR them so we can skip commercials.

I mean, game is at 1Pm, we wait until 3PM and start watching. We have no knowledge of the score, we just block ourselves from phones etc and watch the game. Just to avoid commercials.

I rarely watch games live and most people in the UK don't since the most accessible way to watch football is just highlights on the BBC. There are some cup games that are on regular TV though, and some international games. In the UK the FIFA World Cup and Olympics have to be on non-subscriber TV along with some other things (all these events http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ofcom_Code_on_Sports_and_Other_Listed_and_Designated_Events ).

Tbh I just like to see the people on TV talk about the games (at half time and stuff) and I like to not know the scores to games sometimes. Whether it's live doesn't matter so much. If I was going to be texting people or something I guess it might matter a bit more though but I rarely do that unless Liverpool/Everton make Chelsea look like amateurs lol then I'll be ecstatic.
